Annual Meeting Minutes

June 1, 2009   7:00 PM

Ashbrook Community Center

 

 

Call to order:  7:10 pm

 

Board members present:  Sue, Catherine, Don, William and Pat

 

There is not a quorum of membership as outlined in the by-laws.  Eight members present at 7:00; ten including the late arrivals.  No business can be conducted (no votes will be taken).

 

Don gave the Treasurer’s report, which was a review of the May finances.

 

Catherine announced the two people who are running:  Bill Ruitenberg and Sue Herr.

 

There were no nominations from the floor.

 

Bill and Sue introduced themselves to the people present.

 

A ballot will be mailed to members.  It will be due back to ACS West by June 26 and counted on June 30.

 

A request for volunteers to serve on the committee to count the ballots was made.  These members volunteered:  Pat Taverner, Buzz Pulsifer, Jo Ruitenberg, Sue Pulsifer, and Catherine Crump.

 

A request for a nominating committee for next year yielded the same people.

 

Members in attendance brought up these items of concern:

A traffic light at Winterpock and Ashbrook Parkway.  VDOT will do a traffic study after the new stores open.

Complements were extended to the outgoing board for the progress in the neighborhood.

There was a discussion of grass cutting.

A request for better lighting and paving at the corral entrance and inside the corral itself.

 

 

The meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm
