BUILDINGS & GROUNDS COMMITTEE

SEPTEMBER 2, 2008 MEETING

Main topic of discussion was our proposed budget for 2009. Our proposed budget has been submitted to the finance and audit committee for review. Upon receipt of actual funds that will be available from them for next year we will adjust our budget accordingly. We hope to have this finalized at our October meeting.

We discussed the resurfacing of the tennis courts for next year. The board members and committee members have noticed an increased number of residents using these facilities this year. With that in mind, the consensus seems to be to give this high priority for the upcoming year. We will definitely be getting some bids to complete that project in 2009.

Jerry Oakley reported that he has received some calls over the condition of the cove in the lake behind the clubhouse and the concern of the possibility we are exploring to install an aspirator in there to improve the water flow in that area. We want all of our residents to be assured that we will be getting some professional advice on this before we proceed with any plans of this nature.

Another major concern for 2009 will be correcting the erosion situation under the deck behind the clubhouse. There seems to be some concern here about the aspirator worsening that problem. Again, we will be seeking some professional advice in this matter before any work is done.

Bill Walton has plans in place to get all of the benches repaired along the north shore of the lake. We recently had all of the brush cut out along that shore and you can actually see the lake again from that vantage point.
