BUILDINGS & GROUNDS MEETING

AUGUST 6, 2009

We had our monthly meeting on 8/06/09 and the following were discussed:

1. We are going ahead with plan to remove all vegetation along lake from area by pavilion around back of Community Center to the dam. It will be replanted with Vinca Vine, which will provide an attractive permanent ground cover.
2. We want to do the same along Shady Banks Dr., but we will further investigate to be sure the soil there will be able to sustain the new vegetation.
3. We will contract with KDC Contracting to replace the roof on the picnic pavilion for the amount of $2,425.00.
4. The benches along the north shore of the lake will all be replaced with new ones with backs and arms, thus keeping the skate boarders from tearing them up.
5. There will be a new bench installed in the new tot lot for parents of the little ones to be able to have a place to sit while the children are at play.
6. We had some discussion about completing the walk paths around the west side of the new section with mulch and possibly some benches along the way. We'll investigate this further during the winter months when the leaves are off the trees and brush.
7. The dam and playground equipment have all been power washed for $150.00 and some free advertisement in our newsletter.
8. We plan to have the carpet in the Community Center professionally cleaned after the picnic in October.
9. We are going to look into having the irrigation system extended down to the corner of Shady Banks Dr. and Ashbrook Pkwy. for 2010.
